The elements of two different artistic ages unite as one in this mirror framework: the Hindu, and the Indian art. Although they differ from one another in their style significantly, their mixing does not show dissonance.

Hindu religion started to form in the 5th century, and this transformation had an effect on all arts. The typical Hindu church construction developed into a definite form, and so did the art of reliefs covering densely the church walls as well as the subtle Hindu sculpture. The Hindu art that was taking shape at this time laid the foundations for the whole Indian art following it.

Arts and crafts have great importance in Indian art, which kept ancient traditional motifs through centuries.

Although Indian art could be related on one hand to the Persian and partly to the Arab-Moorish art, it could also be related to the East Asian one (Chinese, Japanese) too, though they have more distinguishing features. Its common feature with the Persian and Arabic art is that the rich vegetal decoration that is articulated extremely gently is more emphasized than the figural decoration. The vegetal elements, the leaves, flowers, etc. are simplified and stylized on the Indian ornaments similarly to the Persian and the Arabic art, but the tenderness of the drawing, its detailed elaboration surpasses these.
